It’s my favorite time of the year and the festivities are under way! I used @AmazonFresh to get all of these goodies delivered right to my doorstep. Trying to battle the lines at the supermarket right now would be a nightmare (before Christmas ;)). Now the real question is, which plate do I dig into first? #ad#AmazonFresh
Last year when I was in school, there were times I was pretty much surviving on smoothies! 🙈 my favourite was a creamy strawberry smoothie with @vitalproteins vanilla collagen protein! I made one today (minus the protein because I ran out) after so long and I forgot how GOOOOD it is! Like a strawberry milkshake 🍓 👅! I used one handful of strawberries (about a cup), 1/2 frozen banana, 1 Tbsp sliced almonds, 2 tbsp @manitobaharvest hemp hearts, 1 heaping tbsp @pranabio probiotic chia seeds, 1tbsp @organictraditions lacuma smoothie mix, 1 tsp Ceylon cinnamon, 1/2 scoop @genuinehealth unflavoured fermented gut superfoods, and just enough @lovemysilk unsweetened coconut milk to blend and make it super creamy!

Anyway, tonight I'm having a quick, easy and low carb dinner (big thanks to @fullgreen_uk ) after a crazy week! So, I've got the rice with coconut oil sautéed Brussels sprouts, @good4unutrition orange super seeds and dried dried cranberries topped with an oven roasted salmon fillet coated with herby seasoning.

Gingerbread pancakes I love youuuuuuuu! Topped with cashew yogurt, honey 🍯 and cinnamon. 😍What a perfect treat after my self care morning routine. Do you have a morning routine/ritual? Starting one this year has been one of the best things--creating how I start my day is 💯💯💯! How to start? I recommend starting small -- choosing just a couple aspirations, and adding on once you it feels right. While taking on a meditation practice, working out, journaling, cleaning the house AND cooking a healthy breakfast all before 8 AM may seem like a good goal, it's best to temper your ambitions a bit to start… So you can create a sustainable and achievable routine, and then build on that!
One good exploratory question to start is: How do you want to feel when you're starting your day? Excited? Relaxed? Grateful? Productive? Active? Powerful? Quiet? Identifying how you want to FEEL instead of starting with what you want to DO is a better approach to serving yourself and your day… And will help you plan your activities accordingly.
I like to feel relaxed, grounded and connected to start my day. For me this usually means a mix of quiet alone time – meditation, movement – usually yoga, and mindfulness – creating an intention for the day. Here's what my routine usually looks like on weekdays (it's usually pushed back an hour or more on the weekends so I can get more rest!)
5:45 Alarm goes off
6:00 Bathroom, brush teeth, splash cold water in my eyes (a praised habit in Ayurveda)
6:05-6:20 Mindfulness meditation
6:30-7:30 Yoga practice (flow or bikram style at home, sometimes a longer or shorter practice depending on how I'm feeling)
7:30-8:15 Shower and get ready (my sweetie makes breakfast and matcha lattes 🍵for us during this time – I know I'm spoiled! ☺️🙏🏻(I make the meal plans and do most of our lunch/dinners))
8:15-8:45 Breakfast with bae 🍳❤️
8:45 Head to work

Happy Saturday! I had an amazing advanced yoga class this morning at @thunderboltpoweryoga. Today’s lunch is both savory and sweet featuring @knowfoods wraps. 👉🏻Savory = @wholefoodsatl pepper turkey + grain mustard + sprouts + avocado.
👉🏻Sweet = cashew butter + @knowfoods chocolate chips.
LA’s Bagel Renaissance keeps building. After pioneers Maury’s and Belle’s decided LA bagels didn’t need to absolutely suck anymore, we now have newcomer Pop’s, who BAKES EACH BAGEL INDIVIDUALLY TO ORDER. The result is a piping hot circle of crustiness on the outside, warm chew on the inside. The likes of which you just don’t see much in these parts. Although currently only a pop-up, they’re looking for a permanent spot and when they do, the LA Bagel Renaissance will be in full force.
