Found this today and it totally gave me #allthefeels
today, and thought maybe some of you might relate. I spent close to 10 years actively ignoring my body, avoiding full length mirrors, covering up with black clothes and big prints and makeup and baggy tunic style tops. My blood work always came back normal, so I pretended it wasn’t really a thing and that my joint aches and back pain and physical exhaustion was just from getting older and working so much. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. I ignored my body screaming at me to take care of it. It wasn’t that airplane seats were getting smaller or that my friends and family were ALL losing weight, I was getting bigger and in pain! I was and am #bodypositive,
but the way I view it has changed as I grow. Being kind to my body, to me, means taking better care of it, physically. I love my body, it does so much for me every day, which is why I am taking the steps now to make it strong.
