When Nate and I sailed for a year by ourselves (that's a story for another time), we didn't have access to things like t.v or the internet - can you believe that we went 'without' for a whole year? I can't imagine that now, but a positive was that we were forced to get really creative in order to keep ourselves entertained. So we read - and I mean a lot. We even read books together, out loud to each other, over the course of the year abroad. Some of my fondest memories of the sailing trip where staying up late at night listening to my favourite authors words come out of the mouth of my favourite person. So this weekend, in honour of @instagram 's weekend hashtag project I'm submitting last nights shot of us reading together - because I'm truly thankful for books, and a cozy fire and of course adult time.
“We matched on @hinge in 2015. Our mutual connection was one of my ex’s— which made me a bit hesitant at first, but something inside me told me to go for it anyways. Our first date was at a coffee shop. I had asked my roommate beforehand to come by in an hour in case the date wasn’t going well. After about 10 minutes into our coffee date, I excused myself to go to the bathroom and frantically texted my roommate saying, “Don’t come! He is so great!” I knew immediately upon meeting him that he was either going to be ‘the one’ or break my heart. Luckily it was the former. Now we’re happily married and so grateful that Hinge brought us together. There doesn’t always have to be a fairytale beginning, for there to be a fairytale ending.”
