I’ve learned so much from the Israelites wandering throughout Egypt. I’ve studied their habits and have marveled at how real and relevant the Bible is today just as it was then. For 40 years God’s people ate manna. A substance that’s name literally means “what is it?”. So hungry for nourishment, they choose to consume that which they didn’t know. Oh how I’ve been eating from the same plate. Finding soul filling amongst the inexplicable. Seasons of unknown are tough and scary and leave us asking some hard questions sometimes. But when we are inching along, even in the despair, we can choose to continue gathering manna. Nourishment. Truth. Trusting we are being led to lands flowing with milk and honey. I dream of Eden. Of His promises from the beginning to bring us back to our full glory. Lately I’ve felt as if I’ve been so adjusted to talking about it, my wrestle with the season, that I haven’t actually implemented proper steps to overcoming it. How numb we get to it all. Acknowledging the hurts and the desires, but leaving it there. Jesus doesn’t want to leave us here. He wants to catapult us forward into the bigger story. The promised land where the 40 years of manna finally makes sense. I’m fascinated by Jesus. His closeness and patience. His unending love and mercy. I crave more of it. I desperately need more of it. So we keep walking, manna in hand even when we don’t understand it. Soul filling amongst the inexplicable. Waiting patiently for the soft whispers, the treasures of darkness. It’s coming I feel it. #ontuesdayswespeaktruth
DAVENPORT, CA | One of my favourite landscapes from my trip (I almost didn't take it too!)...nothing beats the cliffs on the West Coast and the beautiful sunsets/sunrises 😍✨ @photovisionprints#contax645#fuji400h
