When was the last time you did something for the first time?! -
For the last two years I've lived the lifestyle of a bikini competitor (swipe for my 5 shows I've done)..the dieting the cardio, the training splits..all for aesthetics and the conditioned mindset it takes to achieve them..recently my training has suffered because I don't feel the love for the process like i used to...to be honest lifting has felt like a huge have to, not a get to. This is a clear indicator to me that it's time to explore new workouts and ways to challenge myself..which is exactly what i did yesterday. I stepped right out of my comfort zone and got humbled real quick. I got my ass kicked with a functional strength training sesh which included running (with weight) (daduq?! Who am i even) ...really heavy sled pushes, really high box jumps (for me) and messing with atlas stones..if you're not familiar google it..it's no joke. I had SO much fun...after the fact lol it's so different training for performance vs aesthetics. I caught myself saying "i can't" a couple times and ended up proving myself wrong. Empowerment level 12/10 😁

Here's the punchline..if something that once brought you a ton of happiness isn't serving you in the same way, it's Ok, and encouraged to go try something else. I know competing is always there if i get the urge..but right now fitness for me isn't defined by ONE style of training. Have any of you gone through this kind of transition? Feel free to drop some recommendations for fun challenging training 👇🏽👇🏽

Here’s some easy ideas to lower the calories of a delicious stir fry meal.

✅When it comes to weight loss, some diets require low carb or high carb or high protein or low fat. It can be confusing if you are starting out, but one thing is certain and that’s your body needs a calorie deficit for weight loss. So here’s 4 ideas to lower calories for one meal.

👉🏼Swap the following ingredients on the left to make the meal on the right:
1. IN - 1 cup Cauli rice. Out- 1 cup cooked rice. Or if you love rice you could use half of each
2. IN -  2tsp Sriracha. Out - 1 Tbsp Sweet chilli sauce. Less Sriracha is needed because it has a stronger flavour
3. Out- pan oil. You get fats in the meat and sauce and a bit of water will be adequate if you're using a non-stick pan or use an oil spray.
4. IN- extra veg. Out- SOME of the meat.
The plate on the left has 180g meat compared with 80g on the right. The meal on the right has 200g of extra veg!

Perfect for a high protein sunday. VEGAN CHILI with BROWN RICE. 
What you need (3 serves)
* 2 tablespoons olive oil
* 1 medium red onion, chopped
* 1 large red bell pepper, chopped * 300 g extra firm tofu, cut in cubes * 2 medium carrots, chopped
* 2 ribs celery, chopped
* ½ teaspoon salt, divided
* 4 cloves garlic, pressed or minced
* 2 tablespoons chili powder
* 2 teaspoons ground cumin
* 1½ teaspoons smoked paprika
* 1 teaspoon dried oregano
* 1 large can (28 ounces) or 2 small cans (15 ounces each) diced tomatoes*, with their juices
* 2 cans (15 ounces each) black beans, rinsed and drained

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Warm the olive oil until shimmering. Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, carrot, celery and ¼ teaspoon salt. Stir to combine and then cook for 7 to 10 minutes.
2. Add the garlic, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, oregano. Cook until fragrant while stirring constantly, about 1 minute.
3. Add the diced tomatoes and their juices, firm tofu cubes, the drained black beans and 4 mix beans, add bay leaf if you have. Stir to combine and let the mixture come to a simmer. Continue cooking for 30 min. 
4. While the chili is cooking, prepare the rice. 
5. Serve in a bowl and enjoy. *A perfect addition to any meal. NUTRITIONAL YEAST - is one source of complete protein and vitamins, in particular B-complex vitamins. It contains folates, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, selenium and zinc, making it a great superfood.
