[ENGLISH] NEW ELITES TO SPEED UP PACE OF MARATHON
A former Kenyan star runner has predicted that the pace of the marathon race is likely to increase with the entry into the event of countryman Geoffrey Kamworor @geoffreykamworor.
Barnaba Korir said Thursday with the entry of Kenyan runners Geoffrey Kamworor, Bedan Karoki @bedankaroki and Britain's Mo Farah @gomofarah the pace of the marathon race will experience an upsurge.
"Olympic champion Eliud Kipchoge @kipchogeeliud and multi-record holder Kenenisa Bekele @kenenisabekele changed gears in the marathon world and are now being joined by fresh legs," said Korir.
Korir mentioned the combination of Kamworor, Kipchoge, Mo Farah and Bekele is set to reduce marathon to a long sprint.
"Kamworor's victory in New York two weeks ago where he floored former world marathon record holder, Wilson Kipsang, was just a sign of big things to come," Korir said.

I really enjoyed the new course! So much fun to run the city streets and have so much crowd support! It went by FAST! A PR for me today, with the official time of 1:52:58 Thanks for getting my attention @multiplesmiles !! So great to see you 😄👋 #phillyhalfmarathon
I ran my very first half marathon today and I am feeling truly elated (the endorphins are still buzzin round) . I have trained really hard this year to be able to run again after years of inactivity, and the journey has been nothing short of amazing. It has been not only a test of physicality, but mental as well. Now I love running more than I ever have in my life, and I feel blessed to be able to celebrate this milestone at Borobudur. We ran around the neighbouring villages and it was beautiful and reminded me of why I fell in love with Indonesia to begin with. #halfmarathon#firsttime#runner#running#run#lombalari#indorunners#borobudur#borobudurmarathon
Today as a part of the last leg training before the half marathon on the first weekend of December, did a 20 kms run, I met this gentleman, Mr.Siva who is 50 and apparently both of us share b-day on the same day. He is a yoga practitioner and he has been training and teaching yoga to people who are regular runners but has never been a runner himself. Seeking inspiration from his students he has been running for the last three months and wanted to give it a try and has started with a half marathon and in three months he has been able to get to doing 20 kms. Persistence is the key:) #Running#runners#halfmarathon#twcm
20 kms training done.
