Edna went to the mall last week to apply for a job as Mrs. Santa Claus. She got the job because she haggled her wage down to $4.00 an hour thinking she was getting a great deal. She's not disappointed because she's still making four McChickens an hour and what else could you really want in life? #MoreLikeMrsClaws#GriffOnTheShelf
Studies have found that success is just as dependent on confidence as it is on competence, and low confidence results in inaction. Taking action can support your belief in your ability to succeed. Confidence grows through hard work, through success, and even through failure. Who has more confidence then? The one who gets back up every time to try again, knowing he or she may not succeed. Those are the people we admire as a society. We often see them as the touching stories that journalists tell about athletes that have overcome great adversity to compete in the Olympics. Or the CEO who came from nothing. These stories pull on our heartstrings because we can relate to them and we fall in love with these people because we see ourselves in them.
In nearly all cases, the recruiter is important to you because a) they have a lot of information that can help you ace the interview and leave the other candidates out in the cold, and b) they will make the decision whether the hiring manager even gets to know about you. Whether you move forward in the interview process is often the recruiter’s decision. Always befriend “gatekeepers.” And let’s talk about that gatekeeper image for a minute. It may seem as though recruiters want to say NO, but their success depends on filling the position, not prolonging the interview process and the hiring manager’s pain.

It’s meant for incredible jobs, relationships and adventures. Taking the inital step to change things around can be scary, but that’s where the magic happens.
