Carbs are kinda delicious, don’t ya think?😍 Just like all other food, the key to eating them and still losing weight is portion control.  I think most people are surprised the first time they see how many calories are in their typical portion of pasta, or rice, or potatoes😳 I know that I was!  It is easy-peasy for me to blow through several cups of pasta. Two cups of pasta is 400 calories😱 🍝
The calories I’ve listed here are all for cooked food. If you haven’t been measuring food for a time it will be difficult to eyeball portions correctly.  Spend time actually measuring.

I included a couple of options that give you a lot of food for very few calories- namely the zoodles and the cauliflower “rice.” If anyone tries to tell you that they “taste just like spaghetti and rice” they are either lying or haven’t had actual spaghetti or rice in a loooong time😂 I think they are delicious, but I think of them as totally different foods.  Adding them in as a way to get more volume is a fabulous strategy that I definitely suggest trying. There are tons of recipes out there for them both (and I have several down my feed👇)

The bottom line? If you’re eating in a calorie deficit, you can still eat your fav carbs- you just have to find a way to fit them in, which usually means reducing the portion that you consume.

I've seen this quote a few times over the past week and it truly speaks to me - for the longest time I really wanted to lose weight and get fitter and eat better etc etc but literally never had a plan to accomplish this, because I knew if I actually had a plan I would have to stick with it and I didn't really want to change anything. I wanted to do exactly what I was already doing and just magically achieve results anyway. It doesn't work like that! You need to do SOMETHING or change SOMETHING, you need to know what you are doing, have a plan to stick to and a way to measure results. Because otherwise you keep doing nothing. 🤗

The BEST salmon recipe ever!!!! That’s what I’m sharing with you here🙌Even if you’re not really a fish person, I bet you’ll like this. It is so darn delicious❤️ Easy too. And each 4oz portion has 29 grams of protein and only 171 calories. 🐟
Basil & Citrus Salmon
2 T lemon juice
1 clove of garlic
1 T Basil
1 t lemon pepper
1/2 t salt
1 lb Salmon
🐟
Preheat oven to 350.  Spray a baking sheet with spray oil.  Place Salmon on the baking sheet.  Stir the remaining ingredients together and spread on top of salmon.  Bake for 30 minutes or until salmon flakes with a fork.

If you haven’t been measuring food for a time it will be difficult to eyeball portions correctly. Spend time actually measuring. 🍚 I included a couple of options that give you a lot of food for very few calories- namely the zoodles and the cauliflower “rice.” If anyone tries to tell you that they “taste just like spaghetti and rice” they are either lying or haven’t had actual spaghetti or rice in a loooong time😂 I think they are delicious, but I think of them as totally different foods. Adding them in as a way to get more volume is a fabulous strategy that I definitely suggest trying. There are tons of recipes out there for them both (and I have several down my feed👇) 🥔 The bottom line? If you’re eating in a calorie deficit, you can still eat your fav carbs- you just have to find a way to fit them in, which usually means reducing the portion that you consume. 🥞 Hope this helps💕
