A huge thanks to Instagrammer of the week @tomdauben for sharing his love of Dartmoor. Give Tom a follow for more #GetOutside inspiration: "Well, we’ve made it to the last photo of mine for the week. My wife @edauben and I count ourselves very lucky to live so close to this big old lump of granite and peat. Dartmoor is apparently England’s wildest place, and we’ve got some of the wildest bits on our doorstep. Getting outdoors is such a fantastic way to unwind that we often find ourselves up here brewing up a cuppa after a day’s work. Thanks to OS for this fantastic opportunity to share where I live, and my photos with you for the week - if you’ve enjoyed them then please head over to my channel for more. Cheers :)"
Managed to get up a bit of an incline today. It was fine but a bit tussocky and boggy for my poor foot which is still not 100% better after 7 weeks! This is the view down Loch Etive and towards Ben Cruachan and you might spot a poor man who just couldn’t walk at my rather slow pace... 🐌😄 #shotoniphone#scotland#oban
Day 2. Aberdaron to... Aberdaron. I woke up to a gorgeous sunrise looking over the Irish sea. I was told by a local that the closest city was Dublin! I took a couple of unsuccessful pictures of the view as I packed, and hauled my bike + gear off of the coastal path towards the road, with lots of ground to cover if I was to get to Pen-Y-Pass while there was light still in the sky. I managed to get 1 mile. 1 single mile. That's when the first brake pad suddenly wore down to bare metal. Half a mile of walking later, the back brake went too. The town bus doesn't run on Sunday's, and the nearest bike shop was an hour's drive away, so I became stranded in Aberdaron for the day. I spent sevaral hours photographing the low tide, and the mini rivers that cut across the beach.
I've had a boys day today! Myself and mini me, aka @glutenfree_cornwall spent the morning here at #holywell before having an amazing lunch at @cbaycafe (I can seriously recommend this place) We then headed to the south coast for an afternoon of fun, I'm feeling so thankful to live in such a beautiful place! #CORNWALL#whpthankful
