Tips for neck pain in the office (part 2)
As promised last week here are some more tips if you are suffering from neck pain in the office.
This week it's about ergonomics because it's important to get the basics right. Once you have the right chair and adapted a correct posture we can look at other things that will ease your neck pain.
1.Elbows should be by your side and arm parallel to the floor. Remember ears and shoulders are enemies and should be apart as much as possible.
2. You eyes should be in line with the top third of your computer screen so you are not looking down, nor are you looking up, simply straight ahead without any strain.
2. Feet should be flat on the floor. Thighs are parallel on the floor. Depending on your height a footrest can often be beneficial. It did make a big difference for me.
When we are busy and get stressed it's easy to forget about our posture so try to every now and then check back in to make sure you are still sitting correctly.
I remember I caught myself a lot with my shoulders tense and upwards when stressed but by being aware I could quickly correct myself.
I hope you can bring awareness with these three simple tips to your office.
