Off to the mainland for a couple weeks ✈️ Packing this morning and I realized Jayden does not have one single pair of full length pants that aren’t pajamas 😂🙈 Gunna be funny to watch my monkeys walk around fully clothed AND with shoes on. We are going to miss romping around barefoot drinking soup out of coconuts 🥥 (@coconutinformation ) “Support your local organic farmer” shirt by @siennamoonla 🙌🏼
Made a little interview (link in bio) with a small news site here in Denmark about our way of life 😊 we talked about a lot of things; my wardrobe, minimalism, zero waste, veganism, materialism around Christmas, not putting Tipo in an institution, climate change, sharing economy and sustainability 🌍 the article turned out really well - give it a read 🙏 #zerowastelife 😘
I love our "new" second hand cargo bike 😍
We ended up with a large Christiania Light with room for all future children and our tribe children, and I'm really surprised at how easy it is to manage and drive around!
Ani is still a bit too young to feel safe and comfortable in it, and we respect that - so for now I have to walk it or Benjamin must drive Aston around, while Banani is in the sling with me (Aston loves it and wants to ride it all the time). But in a month or so, we are unstoppable, driving around in the gigantic forest in our new 'hood ✌🏼
Thanks you guys for all of your great advice and tips! It was very helpful ❤️
Normally when I go on photo shoot excursions Storm is just coming along for the ride. This time I decided to give her her very own camera to take pictures. She was super excited and took some amazing pictures. The last two are all her. I think she has graduated from my photo assistant to fellow photographer.
What have we added to our library collections? (Shout out to Fairview Public Library🙌🏽 by the way)
Starting Poetry Tea Time has created what I think it’s intended to create. A further love of reading, literature and specifically-poetry.
My daughter has been enjoying Shel Silverstein, the 3 of us dove into Haikus and a little bit of Samurai history.
Further on my kids personal reading list- Garfield. Always Garfield. And now Calvin and Hobbes💗
I hate worksheets. AJ loves them. So we work on them as long as she is having fun. The moment it gets frustrating we move on to something gross motor related, like tag or painting giant paper. #ajlittlebug#unschooling#homeschoolpreschool

K is for Keep. What strategies do you use when the going gets rough? How do you build resilience? When I first wrote this chapter I was focusing on our challenges with choosing unschooling and leaving a career in traditional education. But life's given me lots more opportunities to need to keep;to be willing to go against the grain, to reframe problems as possibilities, to keep naysayers away and to keep a space of refuge at home. What situations have you had to keep going? How did you? More at www.lisanalbone.com. #unschooling#lifelonglearning#resilience#homeschooling#learning#caregiver#LifeSPARKS
If we go to Matthews, even just for a quick errand, we try to stop by this gem of a park. It doesn't feel like you're right between two shopping centers, and the creek, climbing structures and zipline are right up the kids' alley. #getoutdoors#unschooling#homeschooling#parkdays
Daily Journal 12/12: “You do not control others and you never will. You can not control their actions and you never will. You can not affect their words and you never will. But you can stand in your light. And know everything projected onto you from others is their wounds and ego. They do not know your light is untouchable. They do not know their light is hidden. They do not see beyond the scope. They do not see what you see. The bigger connections. You were sent to share that connection. Your soul is old. Magnificent. Wise. Guided. Listen. You know the answers and you must share them. Go deeper, because you can. Forgive because you must.”

Mamas I blinked and my first born baby turned 15 years old yesterday. I just want to cry!!! Yesterday we climbed in his bed and sang him happy birthday and right afterwards one of my younger girls asked me if he can start dating now since I started dating Daddy when I was 15 1/2. You know until then I still saw him as my baby but then I started remembering myself when I was 15. Then the girls started telling me that he can get his driving license soon and all that was too much for me to handle.😯 I mean he is the one who made me a mama. I still remember our daily walks up and down the street when he was little and he'd tell me all the things he was going to do when he grows up and marries. And you know what??? He said he wanted to go to the same stores and do the same thing we were doing. Bless his little heart.
If your a young mama my advice to you sweet mama is love on those little people. Yes you might be tired and you might not have much (if any) "me time" but those are the sweetest years when you just ask your little one "where is mama?" and he smiles and hugs you because you are his whole world. Play, talk, and just soak them up while you can. Don't stress over all the little stuff. Your little one will talk fluently, he will use the potty, and read before you know it. Let them sleep with you and let them be little for as long as they can. Don't rush them and have them do lots of older things too fast. Take lots of videos and pictures with you and your little one in them.
If you are a mama and you had a child who is older than 15 what advice do you have for me? I love learning from others and I just want to cherish the few years I have left with this handsome son of mine living with us. 🍃🌲Starting tomorrow I will be taking a break from Instagram. I'll be back in January. We are going to Oregon for a week this month and I just want to soak up every minute I get with my family. We have blog posts scheduled on our blog this month so you can check the link in bio for our blog posts on Thursdays. Thank you💗 for following our journey this year. Thank you for all the love 💕and support we have received. Merry Christmas dear mamas. :)🌲🍃
I love Christmas for many reasons—the soft glow of the lights, the smell of the fresh cut tree, the coming together with family and friends for parties and special events, but getting out the ornaments, some that predate me by many decades, and telling my kids stories about Christmases past is probably top on my list.
We dress our trees with memories. How about you? Do your trees tell stories?
The best learning experience promotes student active involvement, content development and learning initiative. The student needs no longer a teacher but an academic guide, a supervisor.
Our spark was ignited by an amazing hatchling photograph taken by Stephen Broadbridge!
Back in 2012, we were volunteering with a local environmental activism group - Trini Eco Warriors (now known as Papa Bois Conservation) to help raise awareness and get a ban on hunting leatherback turtles passed. The effort was fruitful and they were able to get turtle meat taken off the legal hunting list.
However, celebrations were cut short as soon after thousands of eggs in Grande Rivière were threatened as the river had broken its banks and was changing its course to pass right through the nesting area. Sadly, the tractors that the local authorities had sent in to divert the river - drove right over the same nesting area -to get to the river, pretty much destroying everything in its path.
Learning about the struggles of sea turtles and witnessing the disregard for our planet was an emotional experience that moved us to embark on this environmental education mission - starting with our youngest.
We’ve built so many inspiring relationships along this journey with fellow passionate, creative doers (tap pic for a few we’ve tagged in this post). We would love to know your story, what made you get started doing what you do, what sparked you?
So it’s still white with snow outside but we are having a cosy day in and some friends coming over. I managed to re arrange my craft class and that will be on Thursday at my home as I didn’t want to disappoint the children. There is not many creative events for HE children or those with anxieties so I wanted to facilitate that. I have made another log slice decoration to give them some ideas to work with.
